The best choice in hardwood

Old floors,
made new again

Most of the beautiful floors we finish were already there — hiding under carpet in a 1950s Lakewood ranch, scarred by a floor heater in a Long Beach bungalow, worn grey in a 1923 Spanish colonial. We sand, repair, stain and finish them back to life.

Founded by Ray Hartley in 1984, we remain a small company on purpose: our own crews, honest written bids, and craftsmen who have been with us for more than twenty years. We will tell you up front what your floor can take — and what it can't.

“Gone are the scratches, stains and wear and tear. What we have now is an 18-year-old floor that looks brand new — the wood grain is radiant and the floor shines.”

— Glen T. · via Yelp, after three other companies said it couldn't be refinished

“We are really happy with the results”

We had some significant repairs done and it all blended in beautifully with the rest of the floor. We had another quote which was less, but we chose years of experience — it was the right decision.

“The floors turned out amazing!”

Called on Thursday, Sam came out that day with a written quote, and they started Monday. By Thursday the third coat was on and everything was cleaned up. House built in 1957 — the difference is night and day.

“Looks like the day it was installed”

Three days, four rounds of sanding, and four coats of polyurethane later, we have a gleaming hardwood floor — and you would never tell there was once a floor heater in the living room.

“The beauty of the new floors helped sell the house!”

The floors look like new — you cannot tell where the repairs were done. Ray Hartley was very thorough in his estimate and the price was very fair. Great experience.

“By far the best in the business”

The owners are knowledgeable, respond quickly, and tell it like it is. It says everything about a business when employees have been with the company for twenty-plus years.

“An old-school craftsman”

No BS, no fanfare — just experience and knowledge. He even swung by on a Sunday to deliver polyurethane when I ran out mid-coat. A+ for service, timeliness, pricing and quality.
